Today, I decided that I would take my editing mentor’s advice and create an anthology of short stories by some of our amazing Australian authors.
Through my lifetime as a reader, and now as an editor, it is clear how many amazing books go unrecognised. Not just in Australia, but all over the world. Yet, it seems to me that Australia are the underdogs. Whenever a great Australian writer, singer, or actor manages to make it on the global stage, there always seems to be this sense of shock. Like the world is saying “From Australia? Really?”.
This is my opportunity to help the world at large see the talent I know is hidden down under.
Now, if you are a writer you might be thinking, “why would I submit my manuscript to you? What do I get out of it?”.
You get a short story completely edited for free.

You get to showcase your work and you don’t have to do any marketing.
That too!
You get a chance to pool your followers with those of other Australian authors and introduce your writing to a whole new group of readers.
All stories will be submitted with your name in the byline (a great feature of Substack) and the links to any social platforms or websites you would like me to share.
