I loved this narrative so much, that I was devastated that the next book wasn’t in audiobook form (Yet!). However, while I highly recommend the book, I DO NOT recommend the audiobook.
Why would I want the next book in audiobook form, then?
Well, overall the narrator was wonderful, they just gave away a pretty big twist very early on. They chose to read a main character in a way that makes their intentions clear BEFORE the narrative reveals them.
I can’t say more than that because
When I got to that reveal, all I could think was that it would have been a huge moment and it had been so well done! If the narrator hadn’t ruined it.
The novel itself, is about a princess about to married off to a sleazebag. However, with magic and the help of her missing boyfriend turned cat, she is able to circumvent her father. It does result in some dirty dealing and marrying his farmer cousin, only until her boyfriend can become human again. She and the cat, are not the only ones plotting though and it doesn’t turn out quite as she had hoped.
Gripping story, well written characters and mostly good naration.
